History: "Compendium rarissimum totius Artis Magicae sistematisatae per celeberrimos Artis hujus Magistros" is a rare book on the occult, dating back to 1775. It is currently held by the Wellcome Library, in London; a library founded on the remarkable collection of Sir Henry Wellcome, which includes medical artifacts and original works of art, focusing on the connections between medicine, art, and life.

The book is written in German and Latin. It's on white, brown and grey-green paper. The title is framed in an ornamental border, in wash, with skulls, skeletons and cross-bones. It's illustrated with 31 extraordinary water-color drawings of demons, plus three pages of magical, and kabbalistic, signs and sigils, etc. At the end, the figures are in red, and part of the text is written on the grey-green paper.

Reproduction Details: The hardcover books are made with two pieces of real wood on the inside. The leather is a 4 oz cowhide, from a small supplier in New York state. The Glue we use to attach the leather to the wood is made at our facility, and is a period correct wheat glue. Along the spine, we use a modern perfect binding, with modern glue, to make the binding last longer. We also add three layers of mull cloth to the outside of the perfect binding, drying in between each layer, which is a traditional way to make the binding stiff, strong, and resilient.

Note: All of our facsimiles are made to order. Please allow 4-6 weeks for notification of shipment.
